Coming to Joy of Six 2026...

20th Jun 2026

With one week to go the Joy of Six 2026, here at Baccus HQ are just a wee bit busy.  As well as organising the show itself, we’ve also got to go through the usual business of getting the Baccus trade stand ready for a big show and on top of all that we are preparing for the release of various new codes and ranges.   But, before that a magic number, #34675, and a bit of an explanation.

Our announcement of the weekly order number seems pretty straightforward.  Each order placed online gets a unique sequential number and if you know what yours is, you can gauge how near yours is to completion and despatch by checking in here every week.   However, it’s not quite as simple as that, and we’ve recently had a few emails where we have had to explain that, so it seems like a good idea to spread the information a little wider.

We cast all metal figures and models to order – orders are therefore bespoke - it’s not a simple matter of just picking things off the shelf, hence the delays between receipt and posting.  However, we also stock a good number of items that are just ‘off the shelf’ such as rules, bases, scenic items etc.   Order containing only such items are sent quickly and without delay meaning that they ‘jump the queue’ and their progress is not charted by the weekly number.   We also get a significant number of orders that, for various reasons, are not placed using the online system and therefore don’t have order numbers.  Unfortunately, we also have to cast the odd replacement order when parcels go ‘missing’ in transit.

All of this means that while we only seem to have sent out say 50 orders in terms of the intervals between two weekly order numbers, the actual number of packages we get out can easily be double that number or even more, so don’t imagine that we are slacking if we don’t seem to be progressing as quickly as you think we should.

And with all that said, let’s have some light relief with an advance look at our new releases for JOS.  This week we move to World War 2 where we will be adding some rather nice Russian Naval infantry to the ranges:

Last week I tried to preview our new Great War Stormtroopers, but the photo was sub-par as I had to use an old phone camera, so here is a much improved version.

I’ll be finalising and listing the full range of new releases, including the WW2 Italians and some new vehicles ahead of the show next weekend, so keep your eyes open for that announcement so you will know what to expect and prepare your shopping lists!
